Trying to make a comeback

I know it's been a while since I've posted on here. Almost a year, which is absolutely crazy (I am a terrible blogger, I know!), but now that my life has (maybe) settled down just a tiny bit, I'm going to try and get this thing going again. So many things have happened since I last posted. As some of you may know, I decided to break off my relationship with Sir (Draugluin for those of you who don't remember) last year in...September, I believe? That was a mistake on my part, but at the time I was so stressed that I couldn't keep juggling everything that was going on without someone getting really hurt. It has been an interesting journey since then, I have moved from Arizona to California to be with some close friends who are also part of the kink-o-sphere. They did my first rope bondage ever, and I even let them take pictures. (Not that I couldn't do anything to stop them, I was, after all, a bit tied up at the time.) I have met some great people out here, and the place I'm working for now is great.

Sir and i talked a little over a month ago, and he agreed to try this relationship again, but we are going to be taking it slow for the time being. He is adamant that making a life for myself out here, and getting situated in my own place should come first, and I agree with him. There will be more to come, as I've had a few thoughts on ttwd over the past year that I wouldn't mind having someone else's point of view on (whether or not I happen to agree with said p.o.v :D)).

Anyways, that's all for now, tata!

Suspension

This week's blog is actually a task that was set by wren's Sir, Draugluin. As the title states, it is about suspension. First, let's define suspension.

The act of suspension is hanging the human body from (or partially from) hooks pierced through the flesh in various places around the body. (Credited to BMEzine.com 2002).

There are several different reasons that one would choose to do suspension. For the endorphin rush, facing and overcoming one's fear, spirituality. Obviously, wren hasn't listened all the reasons, as she doesn't know them. As to the sorts of people who choose to try suspension? Young, old, vanilla, S/m couples, self-proclaimed 'freaks', businessfolk, everyone.

What does it feel like? Speaking from personal experience, having what amounts to really big fish hooks with the barbs ground off shoved through your back hurts. A lot. At least at first. It can be uncomfortable, and before you are hoisted up, there is a jumble of pain, burning, and a pulling sensation. Once you're up in the air though, the pain fades and it feels like you're floating. That is just wren's experience, and everyone will experience it differently. It all depends on the individual.

Types of Suspension

There are different types of suspension, and each position has a name.

Vertical Chest Suspension, occasionally known as O-kee-pa (though wren doesn't particularly like that name, as it trivializes a Native American ritual that has been around since before America was settled).

That is your basic chest suspension. It's considered to be one of the more painful and unsettling techniques, as you can actually see the skin stretching.

Vertical Back Suspension, commonly known as a 'suicide' suspension

This is the most common technique out there, (and is the one wren had done), and can use anywhere from two to four hooks.

There are many more positions out there, almost too many for wren to list. And to be honest, wren doesn't think that the people who read her blog really want to see others hung up on hooks in awkward positions. So, comments and questions are welcome as always.

Relationship Evolution

As all of you know, wren has been in a relationship with Sir for the past two months or so. When W/we first started out, W/we had discussed the possible directions O/our relationship could go. One of the things wren was adamantly against was the D/little girl dynamic (referred to as D/lg from now on). Wren thought it was a little odd, and not something she found to be of interest. Well, last night wren had a light bulb moment while chatting with her Sir. O/our relationship has evolved from what it was into what seems to be a...D/lg relationship. *grin* wren and Sir talked about it over the phone not too long after wren had that thought, and wren has come to the conclusion that maybe it isn't so bad after all. wren isn't sure she will ever be able to call Sir Daddy without completely breaking down in hysterical giggling. Sir, on the other hand, is confident that one day the word Daddy will slip out in place of Sir and it will seem completely natural.

On a more personal note, wren would like to say something. wren is not the best when talking to someone over the phone. She stumbles over her words, and loses her train of thought really easy so wren figured that she would say this here. Thank You Sir, for sticking by wren when she was being completely neurotic, and really unsure of herself. wren is happier than she has been in a long, long time and is looking forward to more happy memories!

What to write?

Have you ever had times where no matter how often you sit down to type up a blog post, no matter how many ideas you have, you just can't do it? Yeah, that's wrens' problem. She knows what she wants to write about right up until the moment she has the blog in front of her. So, out here in Arizona, we don't get cold warnings, we get heat warnings. Yesterday it was a lovely 114, and absolutely laid wren out. It was terrible and it's supposed to be even hotter today. Bleh.

wren had a test yesterday, that she completely forgot about, and she's pretty sure she bombed it as a result, because she couldn't remember any of the math formulas. Though, if wren remembers correctly she can choose to retake one test during the semester, so she might retake it, depending.

Hmm. wren isn't sure what else she can write about :\. She has an idea to meet her blog quota, but wren's going to talk it over with Sir first, before she says anything else. sorry about the short blog posts, it'll get better, wren promises!

So, wren has a lot of stuff to mull over today. Firstly, they are finally starting to get the Wallow Fire under control, it's 38% contained. Yay! That's the big, nasty fire up in Arizona for those of you who don't know. Wren's also managing to maintain a C average in her math class, which is absolutely amazing, since math and wren do not get along at all. Sir has also set wren the new task of dancing for 10 minutes after she gets home for class. *grin* It's nice to know someone appreciates wren's little spaztastic dances.

For you readers out there, wren has found this amazing writer by the name of Jacqueline Carey. She has wrote the Kushiel's Legacy and Naamah Companion Series. They are soo worth the read. Wren actually came across her a few years ago, but recently picked the books up and started to re-read them. And, because wren still enjoys doing things like watching cartoons and has decided to introduce her Sir to Invader Zim, for your viewing pleasure:

Maybe it's just wren, but coming up with titles sucks >.<. Anyways, last night Sir set wren a new task. Sir wanted wren to spank herself using the back of her hairbrush. wren's willing to admit, she felt a bit goofy for the first few swats, but as wren said last night, she finally stopped analyzing what she was doing, and just felt. It hurt more then wren expected, especially considering the hairbrush is plastic and wren is used to a hand or leather. But it was a good kind of hurt, though not as good as if it was Sir doing the deed *grin*. Sir's ass is not as sore as it was last night, but wren can definately still feel it. Unfortunately, wren does not bruise as easily as she thought she did so there aren't any...physical momentos to remind her. Oh well.

wren would also like to say thank you to everyone who's commented so far. Hopefully as time goes on, wren will get into the swing of posting in a blog.

Collared

So the collar and cuff arrived in the mail today. Finally! wren was so excited she kept forgetting to lock the mailbox, and had to go back like three different times to lock it *facepalm*. When she finally got back to her apartment she texted Sir, and then sat, staring at the package. wren wanted to open it right then and there, but Sir said she wasn't allowed to until He called her. That was the longest three minutes ever. Sir called and gave her permission to open the package, so wren ripped into it, and just stared. wren knows that a collar and cuffs is just a physical representation of possession, but the fact that someone, well, not just anyone, that Sir was willing to publicly claim wren stunned her. wren is still a little stunned, to be honest. wren is about to burst with happiness, but she is scared as well. What if wren can't be the subbie that Sir wants her to be? Forget what everyone else thinks, wren doesn't care at this moment. If it wasn't for the cramps from hell, wren would be outside dancing like a complete spaz.

wren wants to cry at the same time. when wren put the collar on, wren finally...relaxed. wren is content, and more sure of this decision then any other decision she has made. This is right, no matter what anyone else says.
